Airport Posts Record-breaking March

Cedar Rapids/Iowa City – The Eastern Iowa Airport (CID) set a passenger record for March, beating the previous record set in 2014.

The total number of passengers in March was 110,381, which is 0.7 percent more than in March 2014 when the total number of passengers was 109,653.

This marks the second consecutive month that CID has recorded passenger records. The year-to-date increase for enplaned passengers – those who board a plane at CID – is up 2.1 percent over the same time in 2017.

CID recorded an annual passenger record in 2017 with 1.14 million total passengers.

Airport officials believe passenger numbers will stay strong with the return of Frontier Airlines’ nonstop service to Denver that started earlier this month and Allegiant’s seasonal nonstop service to Los Angeles that starts again June 6.
