(Cedar Rapids, IA): This is an all-around record breaking year for The Eastern Iowa Airport! Since December 2013, The Eastern Iowa Airport has broken its all-time record passenger numbers month after month. October 2014 numbers came in and for the 11th straight month there has been more passenger traffic than ever before.

October was up 10.8 percent over 2013 making the overall year-to-date increase in passenger traffic 9.5 percent.
“This is the first time in history we have experienced this level of sustained growth,” said Don Swanson, Director of Finance and the acting Airport Director. “The longest stretch that we have found in our history was in 2007 with 7 straight record months.”
The growth is happening with an increase in the size of aircraft at The Eastern Iowa Airport coupled with increased passenger traffic. While each airline has experienced year-over-year growth in enplanements, the most significant increases by airline in October happened with Allegiant Air with a 36.7 percent year-over-year increase in enplaned passengers and Delta Airlines with a 12.4 percent year-over-year increase in enplaned passengers.
