Heather Wilson has been named as the new director of marketing and communications for The Eastern Iowa Airport (CID). Wilson will leave her current position as director of sales support for Noel-Levitz, a higher education consulting firm located in Coralville, IA, and assume her new role at CID June 18.
“Heather will be a great asset to the ongoing success of The Eastern Iowa Airport,” said Tim Bradshaw, airport director, The Eastern Iowa Airport. As director of marketing and communications, Ms. Wilson will assist the airport management team with marketing and communications, air service development, customer service, media and public relations, and oversee the airport’s information center.
“I am thrilled to be joining the team at The Eastern Iowa Airport,” Wilson said in a statement released by the airport. “This is an exciting time for both the airport and the corridor. I appreciate the importance of the airport to the economic growth and vitality of the area and look forward to serving the people and businesses of eastern Iowa. Since moving here in 2000, I have been impressed with the level of customer service and overall friendliness of the staff at the airport and I am excited to help continue that tradition.”
Wilson resides in Cedar Rapids with her husband, Paul, and her two daughters, Loralei, 6, and Gabrielle, 4. She moved to Iowa from the St. Louis, MO, area in 2000 to complete graduate studies in Communications and Educational Leadership and Policy at the University of Iowa. Wilson earned a bachelor of arts in communication and writing from North Central College in Naperville, Illinois; a master of arts in speech communication from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville; a master of arts in communication studies from the University of Iowa; and has completed coursework in educational leadership and policy at the University of Iowa.

The Eastern Iowa Airport is owned by the City of Cedar Rapids and operated by the Cedar Rapids Airport Commission. Commission members are as follows: Chairman Carroll Reasoner, Vice-Chairman Dee Baird, Secretary Joshua Schamberger, Acting Secretary Tom Hobson, and Pat Baird. Airport Director Tim Bradshaw, AAE oversees 42 employees employed by the Commission. The Eastern Iowa Airport does not receive any city or county property tax revenue.
